Pagewing Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 1, 2026

Privacy summary

Pagewing is a local-first Markdown reader and editor for macOS. Pagewing 1.0 does not require an account and does not include advertising, analytics, behavioral telemetry, or a bundled image-hosting service.

Data stored on your Mac

Pagewing reads and writes only the documents and folders you choose to open, plus local application data needed to operate. That data may include preferences, recent-item state, window and session state, custom themes, and crash-recovery buffers.

Documents remain ordinary files under your control. Moving an item to Trash requires confirmation and uses the macOS Trash.

Network access

Pagewing does not upload document contents to a Pagewing service. Network requests can occur when:

Remote servers receive the request URL and ordinary network metadata such as your IP address. Do not put secrets in remote-resource URLs or PlantUML blocks unless you trust the configured server.

Diagnostics and recovery

Automatic crash-report uploading is disabled. Diagnostic and recovery information remains local unless you choose to share it when reporting a problem.

Retention and removal

Children's privacy

Pagewing does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Pagewing changes. The date at the top of this page identifies the latest version.
